Throttle Response Controller for 4th-Gen 4Runner (2003–2009)

The Pedal Commander Throttle Response Controller gives 4th-Gen 4Runner drivers greater control over accelerator response by modifying the electronic signal sent from the accelerator pedal to the ECU. Instead of relying solely on the factory throttle mapping, the controller allows response characteristics to be adjusted for different driving situations.

The factory throttle system interprets accelerator pedal input before determining how quickly to open the throttle. Pedal Commander remaps this signal to reduce the delayed feeling between pedal input and engine response.

On technical terrain, precise accelerator control can be critical. Faster throttle response make more deliberate inputs when navigating rocks, obstacles, and other demanding sections of trail where predictable pedal behavior matters.

Eco, City, Sport, and Sport+ modes provide different throttle response characteristics, with nine sensitivity settings within each mode. Choose between 36 settings, for controlled trail driving to more responsive highway acceleration.

Installation connects directly to the factory accelerator pedal connector and requires no cutting, wiring, or specialized tools. The plug-and-play process can be completed in approximately fifteen minutes and remains fully reversible.
