Overview

Designed, tested, and manufactured entirely by Old Man Emu ride engineers, the BP-51 coilover brings advanced bypass technology to the front suspension of the Tacoma. Precision machining, remote reservoir integration, and application-specific spring rates deliver consistent performance across varied terrain and driving conditions.

Construction

The shock body and remote reservoir are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum to optimize strength, weight, and heat dissipation. Hard-anodized surfaces improve resistance to corrosion and abrasion from off-road debris.

Technology

Internal bypass and shim-controlled valving create position-sensitive damping that remains compliant at ride height while progressively increasing resistance deeper into the stroke. This design improves chassis control, impact absorption, and front-end stability.

Performance

Maximum bore size and increased oil volume enhance damping consistency and fade resistance. End-zone control is significantly improved, resulting in better handling, reduced body movement, and increased driver confidence.

Adjustability

Independent compression and rebound adjusters allow precise tuning to match vehicle setup, accessory weight, and terrain. Adjustments are made directly on the vehicle, eliminating the need for coilover removal.
