The Old Man Emu BP-51 Front Driver-Side Remote-Reservoir Coilover is engineered to manage the varying demands placed on the 6th-Gen 4Runner's front suspension. Its big-bore design combines position- and velocity-sensitive damping to provide a controlled response across different suspension movements, from routine road travel to uneven off-road terrain.

BP-51 internal-bypass technology varies damping according to the shock position. This approach delivers a tailored response as the suspension moves, supporting comfort and control without relying on a uniform damping characteristics.

End-zone damping helps manage suspension movement near the limits of travel. This contributes to a more composed driving experience around town while providing additional control when the suspension encounters larger inputs.

On rough terrain, the shocks must manage frequent changes in wheel movement and chassis load. This coilover provides performance control, with extensive testing under harsh conditions informing its performance-oriented design.
