The Old Man Emu BP-51 Suspension Kit is a fully tuned and matched suspension system for the Land Cruiser 250 Series. At the heart of the system is BP-51 internal-bypass technology, which uses position-sensitive damping to change the shock's response according to piston position and provides separate adjustment of compression and rebound directly on the vehicle.

The BP-51 varies damping according to the piston’s position within the shock. Fluid passes through the piston while additional fluid follows bypass passages, creating different damping characteristics through the suspension’s travel.

The shock provides an alternative fluid path between the shock’s chambers. Some fluid passes through the piston while additional fluid bypasses it through dedicated passages, allowing damping to change throughout the travel.

Compression and rebound damping each offer 10 individual settings. Separate adjustment of both functions allows the suspension to be tuned for different road surfaces, terrain, vehicle configurations, and driving preferences.

The BP-51’s suspension damping adjustments can be made directly on the vehicle. Compression and rebound settings can be changed independently without removing the shocks, simplifying suspension setup and refinement.
