Designed, tested, and manufactured entirely by Old Man Emu ride engineers, the BP-51 shock absorber applies racing-derived bypass technology to improve chassis control, heat management, and tunability. Precision-machined components and a remote reservoir work together to deliver consistent damping performance across extended off-road use and daily driving conditions.

Construction

Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the shock body and remote reservoir are engineered for strength, reduced weight, and effective heat dissipation. Type III hard anodizing improves resistance to corrosion and stone damage, ensuring long-term durability in harsh environments.

Technology

An internal bypass system with shim-controlled, position-sensitive valving provides compliant damping at ride height while progressively increasing resistance near full compression and rebound. This design enhances stability, control, and impact management during aggressive off-road driving.

Performance

Large-bore architecture and increased oil volume improve damping consistency and responsiveness. End-zone control is significantly enhanced, resulting in improved handling, reduced body movement, and greater confidence across uneven terrain.

Adjustability
