Overview

The DV8 Offroad 4 mm Steel Rear Shock Mount Skid Plates provide targeted protection for one of the more exposed areas beneath the 3rd-Gen Tacoma. Positioned around the rear shock mounts, the plates are designed to take contact with rocks and trail debris while helping the mounts avoid direct impacts.

Protection

Rear shock mounts can become an early point of contact when off-roading. Their exposed position leaves them vulnerable to scratches, dents, and more serious damage, making dedicated protection valuable for heavy-duty use.

Construction

Each skid plate is made of 4-millimeter steel for heavy-duty protection around the rear shock mount. The construction provides a substantial barrier between the mount and the rocks and debris encountered beneath the truck.

Design

The skid plates feature a smooth, slanted design that helps them work with the terrain when scraping over rocks. Instead of scraping flat edges against obstacles, the angled profile helps the plate slide as the Tacoma drives forward.

Drainage

Drain holes are built into each shock mount skid plate to allow water and debris to escape instead of collecting inside. They also make cleaning easier by providing a way to clear the area around the protection during routine maintenance.
