Overview

The V3 Modular Rear Bumper from Dissent Off-Road is a major evolution in the brand’s rear armor lineup for the 100 Series. With structural enhancements like an additional wing stiffener and internal gusseting, the V3 offers increased rigidity and better impact dispersion across the entire bumper. The updated modular wing design simplifies installation, improves fitment around the wheel well, and prevents buildup of trail debris. Still compatible with existing V2 swing-out arms, the V3 remains a go-to solution for Land Cruiser and LX 470 owners who want a robust, adaptable bumper with real-world off-road capability.

Construction

This bumper is constructed from precision-cut 3/16” steel plate and reinforced with ¼” steel brackets and internal gussets. The integrated ½” steel recovery points are designed for serious trail recovery scenarios. Dissent includes a complete high-quality Grade 8/Grade 10.9 hardware kit to ensure structural reliability. The added rear wing stiffener introduced in the V3 version delivers increased cross-bumper rigidity for improved performance under load.

Design

Unlike traditional single-piece bumpers, the V3’s modular construction allows the rear wings to slide in from the sides of the vehicle—resulting in a cleaner fit and better reinforcement at the wheel wells. This reduces internal debris collection and improves both aesthetics and function. The modular nature also simplifies installation and increases alignment precision.

Tow Hitch

The V3 is available with or without a drop hitch. Both options maintain factory or improved departure angles. A 2” hitch receiver is integrated into the drop-hitch version and designed to meet or exceed OEM towing specs. While not SAE J684 tested, the hitch receiver is engineered to handle similar loads. A 7-pin trailer plug is included. As a small-batch manufacturer, Dissent does not provide legal guidance or load capacity claims for towing on public roads.

Swing-Out Compatibility

Swing-out accessories are sold separately and are compatible with both the V2 and V3 bumper platforms. Featuring a dual-shear hinge system for improved rigidity and reduced rattle, these swing arms offer a 40/40 split for easy access—even when towing. Slam-shut operation and gas strut assistance make for smooth operation with one hand, and optional lighting upgrades such as combo tail/reverse/turn units or Rigid Ignite reverse lights are supported.

Installation

Installation requires removal of the factory rear crossmember and exhaust resonator. A supplied braced crossmember replaces the OEM unit to maintain and enhance strength, especially when using a hitch. Professional installation is recommended due to the structural nature of the install.
