Overview

The Dissent Off-Road Modular Rear Bumper is a precision-built system engineered to improve departure angles, support recovery operations, and offer swing-out compatibility—all while maintaining a slim, functional profile. Designed specifically for the 80 Series Land Cruiser and LX 450, the bumper incorporates reinforced structure, integrated recovery points, and a recessed hitch receiver to enhance off-road performance without compromising strength.

Construction

Fabricated from 3/16-inch steel and internally gusseted for strength, this bumper is engineered to distribute loads across the structure and away from critical welds. The integrated hitch receiver and recovery points are built to exceed factory strength specifications. Reinforcement braces are included for additional towing support and structural stability.

Design

The bumper’s modular architecture allows for easier installation, tighter tolerances, and a cleaner overall fit. The side-entry wing design improves reinforcement at the wheel well and minimizes debris collection inside the bumper. A thin overall profile increases clearance while preserving key protection zones.

Tow Hitch

The integrated 2” hitch receiver is designed to meet or exceed factory standards but is not SAE J684 tested. Towing is done at the user’s discretion, and Dissent Off-Road does not provide specific capacity ratings or legal recommendations for trailer use on public roads. Reinforcement braces must be installed when towing.

HIGH-CLEARANCE PERFORMANCE

Swing-Out Compatibility

Swing-out accessories are sold separately and feature a dual-shear hinge design for enhanced rigidity and minimal rattle. The system allows for independent 40/40 opening, even while towing, and includes gas strut assistance with slam-shut functionality. Optional combo lights (stop/turn/reverse) are recommended when running dual swing-outs for visibility and safety.

Installation

Note: Installation requires removal of the factory rear crossmember and exhaust resonator. The supplied braced crossmember replaces the stock unit for improved strength and mounting.
